2024 Stats for Immersion Therapy
AMAZING! This year, I spent 40 HOURS on public transit (my 504 hours of walking is exciting, too). Each and every minute of those forty hours has been active immersion therapy. Over time, I developed a strategy for how to manage. Early techniques for helping myself get to the train, endure heart racing on the platform, and staying on the train for the entire ride: *****Distractions***** At first I made sure to have a wide variety of attention absorbing activities, not easy when you're schlepping everything around with you all day. Tried and true methods included listening to pre-selected music, applying basic makeup, chewing gum, doing crosswords, and writing minute to minute notes about the experience in real time. A big difference from my previous years is having technology. My phone can alert me to timetables, delays, and routes. Also, the platform lists how many minutes until the next train.
